I HAVE EXAMINED THIS PIECE AND THE HEAVY LINE ON THE INSIDE IS A FACTORY FLAW AS WELL. THERE IS JUST SOME VERY LIGHT ROUGHNESS ON THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE RIM IF YOU RUN YIUR FINGER ALONG. NONE OF THESE DISCREPANCIES TAKE AWAY FROM THE QUALITY AND INTEGRITY AND DISPLAY. THERE IS NO LID! A gorgeous PIECE WHICH HAS MANY OPTIONS FOR ITS USE OR DISPLAY.
